Dr. Lance E. LeClere, CAPT MC USN (Ret) is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine Surgical Fellowship Director, and Sports Medicine Division Chief at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Head Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Tennessee Titans, and Medical Director and Head Team Physician for the Nashville Predators Hockey Club. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. LeClere served 15 years on Active Duty in the Navy before transitioning to the Reserves and starting at Vanderbilt in 2021, and retired from military service in 2026. From 2012 to 2015 he served as the Orthopaedic Consultant to the US Navy West Coast SEAL Teams and BUDs, was Director of Orthopaedic Research, and Assistant Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program Director at Naval Medical Center San Diego. From 2015 to 2021 he was stationed at the US Naval Academy and was the Head Team Physician for Naval Academy Varsity Athletics, as well as an Orthopaedic Consultant for the White House Medical Unit and the Attending Physician for the US Capitol.
CAPT Lance LeClere, MD is a retired Naval Officer with 15 years of Active Duty service and 9 years as a Reservist in the US Navy. He is past president of the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons and Head Team Physician for the US Naval Academy. He is currently the Division Chief for Vanderbilt Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery, the Sports Medicine Fellowship Director at Vanderbilt, Head Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Tennessee Titans, and Medical Director and Head Team Physician for the Nashville Predators.
