Cmdr. Lance LeClere, MD, former orthopaedic surgeon for the U.S. Navy Seals and current head team physician for the U.S. Naval Academy, is joining Vanderbilt Orthopaedics Lebanon at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH) beginning Sept. 7. This will be his first civilian role.

LeClere, a Navy doctor who is stationed in Annapolis, Maryland, was invited by a past pilgrim to attend this year’s pilgrimage. The call came at “an opportune time” as Leclere and his wife, a Navy nurse, had been seeking an opportunity to go on a medical mission.
